The NZ$1 pledge

NZ$1 an order. Straight to UNICEF.

Every order placed on this site sends NZ$1 to UNICEF Aotearoa. Not a percentage you'd need a calculator and my accounts to check — one dollar, one order. Together with the monthly giving my family already had running, the total so far is NZ$240.00, and every donation behind that number is listed further down this page.

NZ$1 from every order, from here on.

Includes the monthly giving that has been running since October 2025, which is where the whole total comes from until the first order lands.

How the NZ$1 actually works

A flat dollar, not a slice of profit. I started out promising 1% of profit and then realised you'd have no way of checking it — you'd have to take my word for what the filament cost and what was left over. NZ$1 an order is a number you can work out yourself from your own receipt.

A parent does the sums with me and makes the actual payment, because I'm too young to hold a bank account on my own. If a month is quiet the donation will be small, and I'll publish it anyway. If a month makes no profit at all, that gets its own row too — an empty month is still worth showing.

01

You buy a toy

Your order covers the filament, the packaging and the postage — and pays for the next design.

02

NZ$1 is set aside

One dollar per order, counted the moment the order is confirmed, whatever the toy cost.

03

It goes to UNICEF

The month's dollars are sent to UNICEF Aotearoa, the New Zealand arm of the UN children's agency.

04

The receipt gets published

The date and the amount go into the table on this page, straight off the receipt.

Where the money goes

Three things I care about, and the kinds of programmes the donation is meant for.

Education

Books, school supplies and learning programmes for kids who don't have them at home.

A good idea isn't much use if nobody ever teaches you how to build it.

Health

Clean water, food and basic medical care for children who need it before anything else.

Nobody gets to be inventive while they're sick or hungry.

Creativity

Art supplies, making spaces and play programmes where kids get to build their own ideas.

This shop only exists because someone let me keep drawing. That should be normal.

Every donation, published here

This table is the whole record. Each row is a real donation with a real receipt behind it.

Rows are never edited or quietly removed once they are up. Want the paperwork behind one? Email me and I'll send a copy with the personal details blacked out.

Donations go to New Zealand National Committee for UNICEF Trust Board, registered with Charities Services New Zealand as CC35979. You can look that number up yourself — IdeaPrints is an ordinary donor with no partnership or affiliation.

Who we give through

I'm not trying to run my own charity. The money goes to UNICEF Aotearoa — the New Zealand National Committee for UNICEF — which already works on children's education, health and emergency care in about 190 countries. They know what they are doing and I don't, so I hand it over and publish the receipt.

Give Back

Buy a toy, and NZ$1 goes with it

Every order adds a little to next month's donation — and that number, whatever it comes to, gets published right here.
