Terms of service

IdeaPrints is run by a Year 8 student in New Zealand, with a parent responsible for the bank account, the payments, and the legal side of things. The reply to your email might be written by the maker, but there is an adult behind every order.

Using this site or placing an order means you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please email us before you buy rather than after.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST where it applies. Placing an order is an offer to buy; the sale is confirmed when we email to say your toy has been dispatched.

We can cancel and fully refund an order if a price was listed wrong, a colour has run out, or a print keeps failing. Because each toy is printed one at a time, small differences in colour, layer lines, and finish are normal and aren't faults.

Every toy design, photo, doodle, and word on this site was made by us and stays ours. Buying a toy means you own that toy — play with it, give it away, resell that object if you like. It doesn't hand over the model file or the right to reproduce the design.

Please don't scan, copy, or reprint our designs to sell, and don't lift our photos or text for your own shop. If you're a teacher, a library, or a club and you'd like to use something of ours for a class, just ask — the answer is almost always yes.

Dream Lab entries must be submitted by a parent or guardian, who confirms the drawing is the child's own work and consents to it being used. The child keeps the copyright in their drawing — that never becomes ours.

By entering, you give us permission to model, print, photograph, and show the drawing and the finished toy on this site and our social pages, credited with the child's first name and age only. We don't sell the model file. We can't promise any entry will be picked, and you can withdraw an entry at any time by emailing us.

Our toys are printed in PLA and made for imaginative play and display — not for chewing, not for the bath, and not for a whole summer on a sunny windowsill. They contain small parts and aren't suitable for children under 3.

Please supervise younger children, keep the toys away from ovens, heaters, and hot cars, and check them now and then for cracks. Full material details are on the Materials page.

We stand behind what we make: if a toy is faulty, isn't what we described, or never turns up, we'll fix it, replace it, or refund it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Beyond that, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for the order. We're not liable for indirect losses — a missed birthday, a disappointed cousin, or a toy that broke because it was used in a way it was never meant to be.

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and any dispute goes to the New Zealand courts. We may update them as the shop grows; the version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
