We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and Dream Lab entries from children are handled with extra care.

What we collect

When you buy something we collect your name, email address, delivery address, a phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. Card details go straight to our payment provider — we never see or store your full card number.

If you email us or send in a Dream Lab drawing, we keep what you sent. We also collect basic anonymous information about how the site gets used, like which pages people visit.

What we use it for

Your details are used to print and post your order, answer your questions, and email you about that order.

We don't sell, rent, or swap your information with anyone, and we don't send marketing to people who didn't ask for it.

Dream Lab drawings and children's information

A Dream Lab entry has to be sent by a parent or guardian. We ask for the drawing, the child's first name, their age, and an adult's email address — nothing else. Please don't send a surname, a school name, a home address, or a photo of your child's face; if any of that arrives, we delete it.

If a drawing is chosen we publish only the first name and age — "Liam, Age 9" — beside a photo of the finished print. Entries that aren't chosen are kept for twelve months in case we come back to them, then deleted. You can ask us to take down a published entry or delete an unused one at any time, no reason needed, and we'll do it within a few days.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: the ones that keep your cart working and remember which language you chose, plus simple analytics that count how many people visited a page. Analytics data isn't linked to your name.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, but your cart may empty itself when you close the tab.

Who else handles your information

A few services do jobs we can't do ourselves: a payment provider processes your card, a courier delivers your parcel, and a hosting company keeps the site online. Each one only gets what it needs for that job.

Some of those companies store data outside New Zealand. We pick providers with published privacy and security practices, but once information is held overseas it's also subject to the laws of that country.

Seeing your data, or having it deleted

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that's wrong, and ask us to delete it. Email hello@ideaprints.co.nz and we'll respond within 20 working days.

We do have to keep basic sales records — what was sold, when, and for how much — for seven years, because New Zealand tax law requires it. Everything else, including Dream Lab entries, we can delete on request.

Still not sure?

If anything on this page is unclear, just ask. We'd rather explain it than have you guess.
